Kelly Residence

Mr. Kelly is one of the founders of Civano, a unique residential development near the Saguaro National Park on the East side of Tucson. The residents of Civano enjoy a lifestyle mindful of energy use, water conservation and the Sonoran desert habitat. Mr. Kelly's interest in sustainable living which incorporated organic gardening, Solar (both passive and active) as well as water harvesting, were important concepts from the inception of his home. Another strong design concept was that of layering spaces in the entry sequence to the house - from public to more private. The gateway to the motor court leads to an entry courtyard and then to the front door and gallery, a traditional sequence in Spanish courtyard homes.
